FCM Bank has further strengthened its commitment to support various aspects of Maltese society by sponsoring furniture units at the Paediatric Department of the recently-opened Oncology Centre at Mater Dei Hospital.  The furniture will be utilised in a classroom used for play and learn therapy.

“Corporate social responsibility is the core of so much of our activity here at the Bank, and we are proud to support a number of charities and to donate money where it is needed most,” says Luke Calleja, FCM’s Chief Financial Officer. “This time around, Puttinu Cares informed us that the new Oncology Centre was in need of cupboards and other furniture pieces for the classroom in its Paediatric Ward, and we were very happy to oblige.”

The classroom will be used to help facilitate children receiving life-saving treatment for cancer. It will enable them to keep up with aspects of their learning while in-house at Mater Dei Hospital.

“Corporate donations like this one really help to bolster the facilities offered to patients at the Oncology Department,” says Rennie Zerafa, Puttinu Cares’ Chief Executive Officer. “We are very grateful to FCM Bank for their support, and know that the teacher and children in the ward will make fantastic use of this furniture while they are at the Centre.”
